News and Announcements

BC Hockey has announced that beginning in the 2018-2019 season, it will operate a Minor Midget League for 15 year-old players starting with the 2003 birth year.

The Minor Midget League gives an opportunity for 15 year-old players to develop with other athletes of the same age.

The program will align with the BC Major Midget League (MML). The MML will still allow 15 year- old players should that player wish to try out for an MML team.

“BC Hockey is constantly striving to provide relevant hockey opportunities to players in BC and the Yukon,” said BC Hockey Chief Executive Officer Barry Petrachenko “Our members have identified the fifteen year-old age group as a key piece in our development model and an area that has been underserviced in recent years, and in response we feel this programming sets us on a path to address the current needs of our participants.”

Further details will be provided in early March about the evaluation process and program.

Our 2018 Summer Camp Registrations are now open!

LSGC Goaltending is excited to let you know that we’re joining forces with
Brady Robinson (Philadelphia Flyers Development Goalie Coach) to bring you
2 × 3 day Elite Goalie Camps this summer;

- August 17th to 19th, 2018

- August 20th to 22nd

With the combined knowledge of 25 years of coaching goalies of all levels,
Lynden & Brady recognize that every goaltender is different and they don’t
expect all to play the same style but building a strong foundation is
critical. They will find what each goalies strengths are and build on them
while rounding out their weaknesses.

Over the past decade goaltenders have become overly robotic in the way they
operate. Reads/anticipation (”goalie sense”), and the ability to mentally
handle the pressures of consistency have to be key focuses in every
goaltenders development. Instincts and athleticism have become secondary.
Goaltenders need to achieve a healthy balance of using simplified save
processes and proper trajectory tactics/center shifts to allow them to
maximize their net presence. If goalies can combine this with the proper
timing/use of athleticism and compete, it’ll allow them to make those
timely saves. A goalies ability to decide between plan A (simplified save
process) or plan B (athleticism) in a split second will give them success
in the new age hockey.

Let us help you acheive that balance and head into your 2018/19 season with
an edge on your competition.

registration in each group, allowing each goalie to maximize their time
with Lynden & Brady:

We hope 2018 is treating you all well so far and we look forward to working
with you this summer,
