Hello U7 Families!!

 

With this event being 2 weeks out, it's time to kick our excitement into high gear! I am sending this formal update so we can start getting parents and players pumped up and ready to shine as we walk in the Sooke Lion's Santa Parade! This will be an event all U6/U7/U8/U9 teams are participating in, so we will have a nice sized group! It also sounds like Sooke Slinger is happy to decorate one of their trucks for us to walk behind again! If this is your first year and you're not sure what this is all about, I am happy to chat with you if you have any questions :) But simply put we all get together as a big group, show our Thunderbird spirit, and walk in the Sooke Lion's Annual Santa Parade. 

 

When: Sunday, December 7th

Time: Parade is from 4:00PM-6:00PM. I suggest parents/players arrive 20ish minutes early to park, find our group, and get ready to walk.

Where: I have been told it is the same location/walk as last year (we met at the Journey Middle School parking lot/sidewalk) - I will send out a formal route/meeting place once I have that confirmed with our position in the parade.

 

Let's get flashy with light-up accessories, Santa hats/reindeer ears, tinsel garland worn as boas, parent/kid-made SOOKE THUNDERBIRD signs, and of course wear our jersey's! I will provide our team with plenty of candy for us to hand out on behalf of the association! 

 

Here are some other optional ideas you can do:

• Light-Up Gear: Glow sticks, LED necklaces, battery-powered fairy lights wrapped around hockey sticks.

• Mini “Float Walkers”: If parents are so inclined and/or have smaller siblings to bring along they can decorate a small wagon float.
